What we do

Sanvi Educational And Charitable Trust is a Non-governmental organization exists for improving basic livelihood requirements of needed Elderly, women to live as an independent, healthier, safer, respectable individual in society since 2016 in the rural areas of Ariyankuppam commune.

Elders Self Help Group

We are empowering the Elders through the formation of Elder-Self-Help-Groups (ESHGs) that are centered on sustainable methods of income generation. These ESHGs are then federated into higher-level community institutions so that they gain additional robustness. SECT supports 102 groups with 1810 Elderly in and around Puducherry, helping elders regain their dignity.

Elders Livelihood Activity

The sustainability of the Elders in the rural areas depends on activity which can provide them financial support. In this field we have identified a unique, viable project "Preparation of Sanitation" and it is successfully implemented by one of the ESHG. We are trying to introduce similar livelihood activities to other ESHG to live a sustainable life.

Elders Helpline

We are operating through Helpline service 9750718191 recognised by Govt. of Puducherry Police, offering assistance to elders in need. The services offered are – rescue of abandoned elders, couseling of those in distress, health care, legal support, information.

The Helplines provides free information, guidance, emotional support, field intervention in cases of abuse and rescues in order to improve the quality of life of senior citizens. In case of emergencies, the helpline supports senior citizens with the right and on-time information for medical needs, emotional support and other associated needs in collaboration with all the state departments.

Health Car - Physiocare

Elders lack in their knowledge of physiotherapy which is very vital during older age. We are organising special camps to teach them basic physical exercise to keep themselves active.

Cancer care

Recent years has shown a huge rise in the filed of cancer which is killing many Elders, who has no knowledge about decease. To create awareness and to identify the deceases we are organising field visits by the expert from the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Collage, Kirumampakkam.
